I am presently reading a book of Robert Frost's Poems, especially selected by him for publication. ...oh really superb, ...it could never have been this great...I love it

More details Pruned: Blossoming Through Life’s Difficult Seasons Today, I just want to share a poem I love, and some photos to go with it. Thank you! Kipling’s poem is laden with symbolism: does this woodland road suggest a link to our own past (and our childhood), or to a collective past, which can now barely be revisited? He was in the woods and despairing over his financial state.

You can tell that you're a poet. u ve a deep sense of poetic art If you think it is impossible, I heard a lady tell this story about her children: When they got old enough to run around the house and understand what she said, she started doing this simple exercise with them: They would go into the living room and she told the boys to sit on the couch. I can see resemblances in a lot of things that you chose to say. The ending One might even be able to hear the “otter whistle…[to] his mate.”The animals have no reason to fear “men” as there are so “few” passing through the area now. If one entered into the woods at this time there might even be a detectable sound of a “horse’s feet” beating on the ground.

And yes, I totally agree that that part of the poem is referring to riding side-saddle. That it just doesn’t happen for her when others are there.Melinda, I love that, and I can imagine that she can only sense the history when it’s perfectly quiet.
It is in a childrens’ book called Reasons and Fairies in connection with a chapter called The Marklake Witches. Thank you.

Lovely, Robert is a fav of mine and you have captured his essence in this poem. It will cure what ails you (I’m from the South)I like your idea, Marsha, and I think I’ll look for some ways to teach her some meditation.Beautiful! This poem sees a road through the woods being rediscovered, and the old significance of it being unearthed. I guess the relevance of such a destructive condition is as topical as it gets at the moment!Kipling is clearly hinting here at a ghostly presence in the woods. I find the first paragraph better than the second. Overcast but warm The day dry unusually.Walking the woods with the dogs. They no longer remember or fear the “men” that used to travel the path. The keeper has access to a now secret world no one else can see.In the next stanza the speaker discusses what happens if one “enter[s] the woods” on a “summer evening late.” One could slip into this area that is seemingly off-limits while no one is watching. One would also be forced to go around the “anemones.” This word is wide-ranging and refers to an expansive genus of flowers. The keeper is now the only one who is able to see beyond the surface level of the woods. Also some of the lines rhyme with lines on other stanza making it quite unique. She also made it a very positive experience for them, she did not do it as a disciplinary measure. All lines are uniform and the final line of the poem is repeated twice for providing a dramatic effect. Join the conversation by commenting Robert Frost is a favorite poet of mine. Their position allows them to see the “badgers roll[ing] at ease.” The animals are comfortable with this person. thank youWant to keep up with our food and travel adventures? TB has a lot to answer for, it took the lives of such greats as George Orwell, but the flip side is that is has inspired some great literary works as well. Just a random one? Part of the poem’s power lies in its ambiguity. I think He did not have the money to provide for his family but chose to continue on rather than give up and walk into the forest. Very evocative. Page When they accomplished the thirty seconds, she upped the time.

When reading this piece it is easy to sense a conflict in the Trees have been replanted and animals have returned. She then told them that they had to sit still and be quiet for half a minute.

As I wandered through the woods This poem has to be really one of the best ones.....no words to express it...respect! She said she loved to be the last one leaving a room, so that she could really feel the history. You have successfully captured more than just the title of his famous poem. It is pure refreshment for my spirit. Kipling’s speaker concludes the poem my describing all the things that one might see if they were to enter the woods at night. The poem begins with the speaker stating that one particular road was “shut…Seventy years ago.” This first line is spoken as if the reader already has prior knowledge of the road.
before the road was shut, women would have ridden side saddle and riding dress often included long skirts that in some instances almost touched the ground even when mounted. - A.R. This is set in Napoleonic times, early 19th century, in which a young girl who loves riding, is unknowingly dying of consumption. ! Have you taken a walk in the woods lately? Although seventy years have passed since anyone was able to traverse this path the speaker remembers it well.Since the time the road was closed the “Weather and rain” have ”undone it.” Due to the fact that it wasn’t maintained, the elements have almost erased it entirely. This is one of Frost’s best-known, and most well-loved, poems. If the road still existed, this would not be the case. I really really loved this poem.
